Welcome to my first post where I share a project inspired by my Altenew Educators Certification Program. The first class you take in the program is a guide to layering, and quite rightly the focus is on how to layer Altenew stamp sets to create wonderful cards.I had a few sets of Altenew stamp sets to begin with, but this was a great opportunity to buy more….like I needed a reason, right?!?!? lol
I chose to start with the Altenew Painted Flowers stamp set because it was the one I had had the longest but had never really used. It was helpful, too, that it was one of the stamp sets used in the first course so that I could see exactly how they should look when they are layered together correctly.
My Card with Altenew Painted Flowers Stamp Set
This stamped card was super easy and quick to put together, and you don’t need many supplies either, which is a bonus. I’ve put the list of items I used at the bottom of this post so they’re easy for you to find, if you do decide to try it for yourselves.
I started by die cutting a rectangle from Nennah Classic Crest Solar White card stock using my Sue Wilson Double Stitched Rectangle Nesting Dies and I picked one just ever so slightly smaller than a 6″x4″ white top folding card base.
I chose three different flowers from the Altenew Painted Flowers Stamp Set and stamped them with Spectrum Noir Harmony Ink Pads in Lagoon and Oasis. I used a free-stamping technique to arrange the flowers all over the background at random intervals.
When the flowers were stamped, I took my nesting rectangle dies from Sizzix and used four of them to cut two frames from grey cardstock to add a focal point to my card. I glued them symmetrically into the centre of the card using Gina K. Connect Glue so they looked like a frame.
I chose the sentiment “I love you more and more every day”, which I really love. If you heat-embossed it in white onto the same colour grey card, it really stands out. Finally, I used dimension foam pads to adhere the sentiment to the card. Finish with a few sequins, or other embellishments, and there you have it! An easy-to-make card using the Altenew Painted Flowers Stamp Set.
